Tuesday night the Atlanta Hawks head back to Boston down 1-3 in the First Round of the 2023 NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs.
A win Tuesday night would mark the club’s 24th Game five victory all-time in franchise playoff history, as well as the club’s fifth Game five win over the Celtics all-time in postseason play.
The Hawks are 4-7 all-time against Boston in Game 5’s, and they have won each of its last two such games over the Celtics (4/26/16: Atlanta 110, Boston 83 and 5/8/12: Atlanta 87, Boston 86).
In Game 4 against Boston, Atlanta poured in 121 points, marking the second straight game the club has netted 120-or-more points. It’s the first time since the 1986 NBA Playoffs the Hawks have scored at least 120 points in two straight postseason contests … Over the last two games, Atlanta is averaging 125.5 points on .497 FG%, .408 3FG% and .850 FT%.
The Hawks enter Tuesday’s contest averaging 9.00 steals per game in the postseason, tied with the Phoenix Suns for the third-most steals per game in the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
