Friday night, the Hawks concluded their post-All-Star break four-game homestand with a 129-111 win against the Portland Trail Blazers. Tonight’s game between the two clubs was their second and final meeting during the regular season inside State Farm Arena. The Hawks have now won seven of their last eight games against the Trail Blazers in Atlanta,
At the 10:40 mark in the fourth period, Dejounte Murray made a 12-foot pullup jump shot to help the Hawks extend their streak of 100+ points to 38 straight games. Murray played 34 minutes tonight, tallied 41 points, five rebounds, six assists, shooting 13-25 FG, 5-5 3PT. With his bucket at the 5:08 mark of the third quarter, Murray reached 30+ points for the sixth time this season and 14th time of his career, with his bucket at the 4:15 mark of the fourth quarter, Murray set a new career-high for points in a single game with 41, and this season against Portland, Murray has averaged 40.5 points on .638 FG%, .769 3FG% and 1.000 FT%.
Trae Young played 29 minutes tonight, tallied 23 points, seven rebounds, eleven assists, shooting 6-14 FG, and 3-5 3PT. Since January 26, 2022, Young has dished at least five assists in 90 straight games and has tallied 10+ assists in 160 career games.
Collins, Hunter, and Capela combined for 34 points tonight. Capela has rejected at least one shot in five straight games.
Atlanta’s bench combined for 31 points tonight.
Atlanta will now hit the road for their longest remaining road trip of the regular season, a four-game trip with stops at Miami and Washington.
