Thursday night the Atlanta Hawks were back home at State Farm Arena in Atlanta for their second meeting with Phoenix in eight days. In their first meeting of the year on February 1st in Phoenix, the Hawks took a 132-100 victory, and tonight the Hawks, with a 116-107 win, will walk away from this one 2-0 against Phoenix this season.
Trae Young finished tonight’s game with 36 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds and 2 steals, marking his 60th career 30+ point, 10+ assist outing.
Onyeka Okongwu secured his 10th double-double of the season. Clint Capela pulled down at least 15 rebounds for the eighth time this season and 103rd time in his career, and Jalen Johnson pulled down five-or-more rebounds in a career-best five consecutive outings.
The Hawks will get a day off on Friday before their first of two contests against the Spurs on Saturday at State Farm Arena.
Last season, Atlanta and San Antonio split the season series 1-1, with Atlanta securing a 124-106 road victory on November 24, 2021 and the Spurs took a 136-121 win in Atlanta on February 11, 2022.
