Atlanta Hawks Wrap Up 5-Game West Coast Road Trip With A 116-107 Loss Against The Pelicans

Tuesday night the Atlanta Hawks wrapped up a five-game West Coast trip against the New Orleans Pelicans, and with a 116-107 loss, the Hawks wrapped up this road trip 2-3. Tuesday’s outing in New Orleans was the second and final meeting between these two clubs for the 2022-23 regular season. The Hawks took the first game of the two-game series back on November 5, with a 124-121 overtime victory.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, Tuesday night played 31 minutes, contributing 31 points, three rebounds and two assists. Bogdanovic has now hit five three-pointers in a game for the fifth time this season.

Trae Young played 36 minutes, had just sixteen points, three rebounds and sixteen assists. Young, Tuesday night recorded the 153rd point/assist double-double of his career, he finished the first half with 11 assists, tied for the most assists he’s handed out in a single half during his five-year career. With sixteen assists Tuesday night, Young reached fifteen assists in a game for the 20th time in his career and second time this season.

The Hawks will play three of their next four games before the All-Star break at State Farm Arena. Next up for the Hawks will be their final matchup with the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night.

The Hawks and Suns met just over a week ago on February 1, at the Footprint Center, with Atlanta pulling out a 132-100 victory, the largest margin of victory this year and the largest at Phoenix in franchise history. 10 Hawks connected on at least one three pointer, which marked just the fifth time in franchise regular season history Atlanta has had 10 players knock down one-or-more from deep in the same game.

Thursday night’s game is also the Atlanta Hawks Pride Night celebration, where the Hawks will celebrate Atlanta’s LGBTQIA+ community.
